Positives: MetLife appears to be in a strong financial position, with high ratings from all major rating agencies. Revenues for the first 6 months of 2008 are roughly in line with 2007 results. Meanwhile, MetLife asserts a strong commitment to ethics and compliance.

MetLife has added 298 domestic sales representatives (agents) since December 2007, an increase of 2.7%. The international increase has been 681, or 15.5%.
