Private Equity Overview: For employees who have reached a certain threshold of cash compensation and/or of rank in their firm, an added benefit may be the ability to participate in special investment pools that normally are open only to ultra-wealthy clients. Such Private Equity funds hold out the promise of above-normal returns, but with added risk and relative illiquidity. Nonetheless, working for a firm that offers such opportunities for building employees' wealth is another positive aspect of the industry.
